During this free live stream with the Tennessee Environmental Council, we will discuss recent scientific findings on the positive impact of spending time in nature on human health. We will consider scientific, cultural, and poetic perspectives on natural systems to develop a paradigm of human wellness that emphasizes connection, belonging, care, awe, and deep relationality, in addition to individual physical health metrics. We’ll also look at some specific mind-body practices that can enhance well-being and a sense of connectedness to nature, focusing on nature-based mindfulness and Shinrin-Yoku (often translated as forest bathing).
