Practicing Gratitude and Cultivating Appreciative Joy

  • Wild Heart Meditation Center 3123 Gallatin Pike Nashville, TN, 37216 United States (map)

With the Thanksgiving season approaching, we may be experiencing some complicated feelings about the historical context of the holiday and the ways in which we've been trained to believe that we discover our gratitude through compulsory public performances of it. In this half-day workshop, we'll create space to deconstruct and discuss our experiences with compulsory gratitude, and practice techniques for more fully experiencing the spontaneous, embodied, and relational aspects of mindful gratitude. We will engage with some teachings on appreciative joy that can help guide us into a state of increased openness to good emotional surprises, like awe and impromptu rejoicing.
